Die Suid-Afrikaanse Menseregtekommissie (MRK) sal ʼn vermeende rassistiese aanval op ʼn swart student aan die Universiteit van die Vrystaat ondersoek.
“Dit is veral ontstellend dat hierdie voorvalle steeds plaasvind, ondanks pogings deur verskeie individue en instansies, insluitend die kommissie, om voorvalle van rassisme by die UV aan te spreek,” het Isaac Mangena, woordvoerder vir die MRK, in ʼn verklaring gesê.
Twee studente, wat daarvan beskuldig word dat hulle ʼn ander student aangerand het, het Donderdag in die Bloemfonteinse landdroshof verskyn.
“Cobus Muller en Charl Blom het Maandagaand in ʼn bakkie op die universiteit se kampus in Bloemfontein gery en glo Muzi Gwebu getref,” het kapt. Chaka Marope, woordvoerder van die polisie, gesê. “Die twee het Gwebu later na bewering gekonfronteer en aangerand.”
Blom en Muller word aangekla van poging tot moord, aanranding met die doel om ernstige liggaamlike skade aan te rig en roekelose of nalatige bestuur. Hulle is op ʼn waarskuwing vrygelaat en moet in April weer in die hof verskyn.
Die universiteit het gesê die studente sal nie toegelaat word om verder aan die universiteit te studeer indien hulle skuldig bevind word nie.
Mangena sê dit is kommerwekkend dat Suid-Afrika steeds met onverdraagsaamheid en haat tussen rassegroepe sukkel. “Die kommissie verwelkom die flinke optrede deur die universiteit se bestuur om die vermeende oortreders dadelik uit die universiteit te skors.” -SAPA
Dis so ironies ne? As blankes die swartmense aanvat, is dit rassisties, maar as die swarte die blanke aanvat is dit geensins rassisties nie.
Dan sien ek alle rooftogte, plaas aanvalle, moorde en ander kriminele dade jeens blankes ook as rassisties?
Wag so bietjie, het die twee beskuldigdes dit met opset gedoen, was dit met voorbedagte rade dat hulle die klaer wou raak ry, of is hierdie net weer ‘n soeke na sensasie, dis mos net Blankes wat rassisties is. Nee wat, ek sou eers die twee manne se verduideliking rondom die omstandighede wou hoor.
Honderde mense van alle rasse het daagliks onderonsies met mekaar, maar laat n blanke net vir n swartman skeef kyk, dan is dit rassisme. Die ergste is dat ons eie media dit so aan die groot klok hang. Gelukkig kom ek al 3 jaar klaar sonder Beeld, Rapport en kie.

Black-racist attack against two Afrikaner students ignored by SA news media
“No-one was arrested for the black-racist attack against two Afrikaner students on Sunday morning early in front of a student residence in Bloemfontein..
The ANC-controlled news media describes the attack against Wiehann van der Walt (20) and Retha Roux (20) as ‘just another armed robbery’.
Agriculture-student Van der Walt was dropping off Ms Roux in a friend’s car after a function at the Veritas hostel on the campus, and was taking her to Steven Street in Universitas, Bloemfontein.
Van der walt said it was ‘pitch dark because the street lights don’t work. “We had just stopped the car when a gunmen knocked on the driver’s side of the car-window demanding the keys. I refused to give them.”
Another man appeared from the dark and ripped Van der Walt from the Volkwagen Polo Vivo. Van der Walt was brutally beaten up during the fracas and the car-keys fell to the ground.
Ms Roux, a B.Sc student, was dragged from the car at gunpoint and when they left, they tried to take the girl with them in her car – but she managed to escape from their clutches.
Van der Walt said a third black man was also involved in the attempted kidnapping of Ms Roux: he saw the third man watching them from a Volkswagen Fox parked nearby.
The couple ‘s cellphones, wallets and a tablet computer were robbed and the two thugs then fled in the car.
The young Afrikaner couple – Van der Walt is from Levubu in Limpopo; Roux is from De Aar — have gone to their parental homes to recover from the trauma.
SAPS captain Chaka Marope said it was just another robbery.
